Clear your plate

.

Now that Clover is walking and has pretty good control over her limbs, we've been having her clear her plate after meals. She gets the choice to either put her food in the composter or she can give it Sage. She always chooses Sage (of course!).
She brings her plate to the laundry room, places it on the floor and then we call Sage. The funny part though is that she gets pretty mad as soon as Sage starts to eat the food. She then takes back the plate and runs the other way with it.
I guess it's all part of the learning process!

Pumpkins

.

Last week we took the kids to the Roloff farms (Big People Little World) to pick out their pumpkins. We had a good time. Storey especially liked the baby lion that they had there. They were able to pet the goats and cows.

Afterward we went to my brothers house for a pumpkin carving party. Storey had a really fun time helping David carve the pumpkins, and Clover enjoyed watching and occasionally eating pieces of pumpkin.

Little Monkey

.

Storey's been pretty sick for the last few weeks, it's been one thing after another. He started feeling better today, can you tell?

David was cooking him a before bed snack and he had him sitting on the counter. Storey had gotten into the flour while up there and I put some in a bowl for him so that he could play with it. I turned around and when I looked back he had his face in the bowl and was blowing. When he looked up I couldn't help but laugh! Then he started to laugh, and I went for the camera.
Good times.

Clover's 1st birthday

.

Clover's first birthday party was a week ago. We went to a park, had cupcakes (in the shape of a bear) and presents. Her Poppy (my dad) came from Reno for her party (and the other 407 birthday partied that weekend!) The typical party stuff, fun was had by most, I hope. Thanks to everyone for all of the presents she received, definitely not a deprived child...spoiled isn't quite yet the right word :)

Clover's a cute kid, although she's definitely not soft spoken like her brother was at that age. She's talking a lot these days, parroting back what you say to her, and she also has a pretty extensive vocabulary down for her age.
She's walking now, which is fun, and she's trying to learn how to run. Must be the older brother motivating her to move faster to get out of the way!

If I had to pick Clover's favorite things in this world I would say her stuffed "babies" (she has many that she loves) and always having something to eat in both hands. I think that milk would be a close third to those two.
We're having a great time with the kids, the older they get the more fun (and easier!) they become.

In un-Clover related news, my brother, Matt, and sister(in-law), Sarah (seen in the picture below) just found out that they are having a baby girl. My sisters Sara having a girl) and Courtney (a boy) are both coming up on their dues dates. Babies, babies, babies...

Signing and a new bike

.

It's been a fun summer. The kids are just so much fun to be around, not to say that they aren't a lot of work as well. Between Storey's play groups, visitors, hanging out with the family and mine and David's work schedules, we tend to stay pretty busy, and the kids tend to get a lot of attention!

Clover signing all done.
Clover is 11 months now, (CRAZY-I know) and, like with Storey, we started using signs with her from the beginning but then more heavily around 9 months. A couple of weeks ago she just started to sign everything. Now all I have to do is show her a sign a few times and tell her what it means and she's got it. Not only is it really cute, but it's so fascinating to communicate with a oneish year old. She does talk a bit as well, mama, dada, momo (my mom), nana (David's mom)bye bye, dog, that, ball, done, milk and more are the ones that come to mind. She definitely will be talking a lot earlier than Storey.
Clover is not walking yet!! She can walk, I see her take steps all the time, but she just doesn't want to. It's so funny, if anyone holds their hands out to her she just sits down and crawls to them. I can't say I blame her though, she's a speed crawler. Why walk when you can crawl...also Storey might end up knocking her down, that's scary!
My grandma, Storey and Clover's GG (not one grandma or grandpa in the bunch for these kids...), came for a visit just recently and during her stay she decided that Storey was in need of a bike. Well, apparently he was. He loves his bike! He loves it so much that he wanted to stay home from one of his play groups (that he asks to go to everyday) just to ride his bike. The only thing that he doesn't love about his bike is sharing it. Oh well, we're working on it :) After a day of watching him ride it we decided that he'd do better without the training wheels that came with it and so he's on a two wheeler now. He's not just to the point of peddling (I'm told that's a 3-year old skill) but he enjoys riding it around anyway.

It's been awhile...

.

It turns out that I'm not the best blogger! Sorry :)
Here's the skinny on our life at the moment:
Storey is doing great! He's potty trained now, for the most part, and he's been doing really well that. He loves his baby sister...so much. He's a really good older brother, it's pretty cute. A few of us moms from our neighborhood have started a kid swap, each one of us has the kids (3 two year olds) one day a week for 3 hours. That leaves each one us with one day on and two days off. It's nice when it's your day off :) That's what the picture of the 3 kids is of, Lael, Cora and Storey.
Clover is now 8 months old. She took her first step the other day (yikes!!!) and is really just cruising along. Clover just has the best sense of humor. Everything is hilarious to her, it's fun to be around. She also puts up really well with her older brothers rough housing. So much so she's learned to fight back at an early age...:)

Easter

.

This was Storey's 3rd Easter and Clover's 1st. However this was the first Easter where Storey was old enough to have an egg hunt and enjoy candy :) We had a good time. Clover's favorite part seemed to be the grass.
The day before was Storey's birthday ao we decided to have cake on Easter when the whole family was going to be there. We had a cake and presets, of course!
